Enrollment Process

While the Enrollment Process is not difficult, it does require timely completion of materials and prompt responses from enrolling members. If the member is unable to complete this process before their anticipated start date, they will be required to complete additional documentation that may delay when they can start counting hours.

1. Complete the Orientation and Pass the Quiz with 80%.

If you do not pass, you can retake the quiz.

Quiz Results are checked once a week.

2. UHEAN Staff will send you information to complete your fingerprints and the enrollment information document. You will not be allowed to enroll in the program until you have confirmed your fingerprint appointment. You must be accompanied by your Supervisor in all service activities until your background check has cleared. It is in your best interest to complete your prints as soon as possible.

3. Complete your Position Description and Meet with your Campus Coordinator. Your Campus Coordinator will provide you with this form. You will review and sign this document with your Site Supervisor. Make sure you bring your government issued photo ID and your completed Position Description with you to the meeting.

4. Complete your forms once you receive notification that your IPT and My.AmeriCorps.gov accounts are available.

In IPT, you must complete:

  • Enrollment Eligibility Verification -Sign as soon as possible.

  • Member Service Agreement - Cannot be signed until your Campus Coordinator has signed it.

  • Accompaniment 1 Form - You do not need to wait for your Site Supervisor to sign before you do.

Your My.AmeriCorps.Gov Account:

  • Create your AmeriCorps Profile on My.americorps.gov. (Select Register to create a new Member/Alum account if this is your first term).

  • Complete the Enrollment Form located in the left hand column.

Make sure to verify with your Campus Coordinator that all of your tasks are completed and are ready to be enrolled at least 3 days before your anticipated start date.

After all of your forms are signed and submitted to UHEAN by your Campus Coordinator it may take up to 2 weeks for your enrollment to be reviewed and finalized, you will receive an email from UHEAN verifying the day you can start counting hours. The day you can start counting hours will be the day all enrollment requirements were correctly completed or your service start date, whichever date is later.

Important Notes

Please check UHEAN’s website to view the Qualified Service Sites. If your site is not on the current grant year’s list your site will need to complete a Qualified Site Contract. We cannot complete your enrollment until we have a QSC for your site for the current year. If you do not see your site listed, please contact us (americorps@uhean.org) for further instructions.

Make sure emails from americorps@uhean.org are not marked as junk mail in your email account.You will receive important information from UHEAN such as how to track your hours. Additionally, we will contact you via email if there are issues with your term that need your attention.

The enrollment process must be completed within 30 days of the expected start date. If the member is unable to complete this process within the required time they may be asked to retake the orientation and resubmit their enrollment information documents.
