Janell joined the OUSF staff as a program assistant in 2o18 when the program was housed within Utah Campus Compact. Since then she has enjoyed sharing the opportunity that National Service gives young adults to engage in service, but also the financial benefit that students receive in the completion of activities that many of them would already be doing in pursuit of their degrees and certificates.

Janell is a Utah transplant, moving to Utah to complete her undergraduate degrees in International Studies and Anthropology at the University of Utah as well as a certificate in Diversity. In her own love of education, she continues to earn various licenses including Independent Financial Professional and Paralegalism. Her spare time is filled with the adventures of her adorable children.

Diane Anderson was born, raised, and continues to live in the Cache Valley area. She and her (retired) husband will soon be building their retirement home in her hometown of Cove, on the Utah/Idaho border. She received her “Office Occupations Training Program/Secretarial Specialty” certificate from “Bridgerland Applied Technology Center” in 1989.  After a 10-year staff assistant career with the City of Logan, she hired on at USU in 2010 as the Assistant to the Dean at the “Quinney College of Natural Resources”.

 Diane joined the “Center for Community Engagement” department in 2014 as a Staff and AmeriCorps Assistant.  In 2019, she accepted a position with UHEAN as a Program Assistant and continues her role and responsibilities as the USU/AmeriCorps Assistant. She enjoys working with students and spreading the word about AmeriCorps. Especially, informing students on how they can earn an Education Award while serving their communities and completing their college education.

Diane and her husband like to spend downtime at their mountain property near Robin, Idaho with their Border Collie, Whiskey, two sons and their families, including 6 adorable grandchildren. She unwillingly gave up 30-years of horseback riding at the age of 50 and switched over to motorized horsepower instead (four-wheelers and a Polaris Ranger).  Her happy place is in her sewing room, making quilts and other fun stuff for family and friends.
